The Tests to Be Done Before the Gallbladder Removal is Performed

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 2:39 am

Before the gallbladder removal surgery, the doctor has to do the following tests: blood tests, chest x ray and gallbladder x ray. You should let your doctor know if you are pregnant or if you are taking vitamins and drugs. If you are taking ibuprofen or aspirin, you can be asked to stop using them in one week before the surgery. Your intestines and colon may also need to be clean out. The doctor will decide on the types of the drug you will take up to the day of the surgery. On the day that the surgery is supposed to be performed on, you should never drink or eat anything on that day. You should take the drugs with little water. You should take the shower in the morning of the surgery. Ask about the time that you have to go to the hospital. Prepare you home and your family so that you will be comfortable after the surgery. Just know that there are alternatives to gallbladder removal that are less invasive to help treat your gallbladder symptoms.

You Need Someone Cool in a Crisis

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 6:20 am

Once when I got stuck in a lift I almost panicked. I was staying at a hotel for a business meeting. After the meeting I was going back to my room. The lift was meant to hold three people. I had two other people with me in the lift. One of them was Joe who was a golf psychologist and another was Jim who was a businessman. Just as the lift door was about to close a gentleman jumped into the lift. We shouted at him to get out but the door had already closed. The lift moved up and then suddenly it went down because of the extra weight. We all began cursing the guy who jumped inside. Jim started to cry because he feared that he would die of suffocation. I too was almost on the verge of breaking down. The only cool guy in the lift was Joe who told us to remain calm and not to panic. We tried opening the door and shouting for help. Soon the hotel staff came and pulled us out of the lift.

The ice wraps, which have varying degree of effectiveness, can, be made at home and they are easily available in stores and pharmacies. The ice wraps are placed on the neck or the temple of people who have migraines. Alternatively, people who are suffering from migraines can take magnesium in pill form to prevent and treat them since it helps to regulate dilation of arteries. Something So Strange

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 6:34 am

Okay, I know that even though you don’t hear about it, that certain things still exist. For example, my husband was complaining about having bad, strange pain in the toes on his left foot. He hadn’t been injured that we could see, so it was just bizarre that this pain would hit him in the middle of the night, in his toes of all places. So we got online to check into what the heck it could be, and it sounded exactly like gout, of all things. I never heard of anyone who had that, and neither had he. We checked with his doctor and sure enough, it turned out that he was going to need gout treatment. Well, that involved more research, because we didn’t have the first clue about what you can do to treat, prevent, or keep it from coming back. Good thing there are lots of posts on websites from people who have had that problem, so we could get some advice.

More Tips for Avoiding Headaches

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 2:17 am

There are a few simple lifestyle changes that you may want to try for your migraine headaches before you see a doctor, or spend money on medications that may cause serious side effects or dependency issues. It sounds almost too obvious, but many people don’t realize that a well placed ice pack on the forehead or temples may alleviate what causes migraines and headache pain. Similarly, if you are suffering from tightly contracted neck and head muscles, a heating pad may help you loosen them. A luxurious soak in a bath tub or hot tub may also help you relax and bring pain relief. If you spend a lot of time indoors, stepping out for a breath of fresh air or taking a nature walk is an excellent remedy for a headache. Also limit your time in front of the computer screen or television set, especially in low light. Finally, always get plenty of sleep!

Could You Minimize the Metformin Side Effects?

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 7:53 pm

Metformin side effects range in their degree of gravity and impact on the diabetic. The most widely reported side effects include diarrhea, nausea, and stomach cramps. These can be mild and easily tolerated or severe enough to become the basis for a change in the amount of the dose or the medication itself. This is why it is so important that diabetic patients follow-strictly-their doctors’ instructions on how to take metformin. For instance, taking metformin when hungry may cause nausea and diarrhea so it is better to take the drug with food. The dose must be adequate or blood glucose may rise steeply, and the diabetic may be subject to seizures and fainting spells, or experience chest pains and other more serious side effects. In those cases he or she should get medical help as soon as possible. Although these cases may be rare, both the patient and medical professional should be alert to reduce any possible further damage to the diabetic’s health.

Alternative Way for Anti Aging Action?

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 5:09 pm

The default way to fight aging is with products or cosmetic and medical interventions. Is there any other way?

Of course, anything we do has some impact on the way we age. How good is our nutrition? How well do we sleep? Do we lead a balanced life or do we reach a high peak with stress?

A good practical way to have a sound anti aging approach is to take anti aging vitamins. These help approach the fight from the interior of the body, as most products focus on the exterior. You need to take care to have anti oxidants not only in your face cream, but also in your diet.

The best bet is to lead a healthy life. Most of us know the basic rules of such a lifestyle, but very few apply it. So be different, be among the small percentage who actually walks the talk.

I Have Been Told Quite a Few Times That My Advice is Wrong

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 6:15 pm

I have been told quite a few times that my advice is wrong. Not only is this wrong but I would argue that it’s indicative of the lies that float around. Specifically, the lies that pharmaceutical companies use to sell their hemorrhoids creams. Anything that is made by man is going to be ‘inflated’ in order to sell more products – man is greedy, it’s our nature. The very best treatment is natural and free from deceitful humans. The very best treatment is food, believe it or not. Your local supermarket holds everything that you need to not only treat hemorrhoids and cure yourself. But it contains everything you need to stay hemorrhoids free for life. The only problem is that the food isn’t labelled with ‘hemorrhoid cure’, and this is the information we humans need to take action! Further, buying the right food isn’t quite as easy as just picking up a single product from the pharmacy shelf. To get real results you need to design a diet. It doesn’t have to be difficult, just a 3 day diet that you repeat will suffice in most cases.

Acupuncture for Weight Loss

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 4:50 pm

Vancouver acupuncture and massage therapy clinics, such as BodaHealth, are renowned for helping people further deal with the everyday stress of their lives. The beneficial effects of acupuncture haven’t been as well-known to the public as they are now. People dealing with weight-related issues have found their weight loss can be jumpstarted by seeing their local acupuncturist. First timers might be skeptical but it only takes a few visits to see results in your appetite, weight loss, inch loss, and energy. Those who use acupuncture for weight loss often experience a rush of natural endorphins after every session, meaning they’re happier and less likely to turn to food if something upsets them.

How does it work? For weight loss, an acupuncturist will have a consultation with a client before the session to gauge what’s causing the body to maintain a high weight. It could be stress, something genetic, or a number of other causes. From here, pressure points are selected; some for appetite suppression, others for abdominal fat loss, and so on. This is known as the multi-targeted approach. After the session, the acupuncturist will give the client further instructions to aid in optimum weight loss. It’s a simple process that has been proven to reap maximum results.

Stop Panic Attacks in Public

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 11:53 am

Panic attack can be one of the worst feeling imaginable. It is uncomfortable, painful and frightening, that you will get lost and would not know what to do. When you experience this disorder in public, there are three steps that are recommended to stop panic attacks while you are in a public place and around many people.

1.Calm yourself with breathing that will make you relax. Inhale and exhale gently, while saying to yourself, “calm” and “relax”.

2.Tense all your body muscles so that you will appear like a stiff board. Do this one at a time, start from the bottom part of your body, the feet, going up.

3.Form a circle by bringing the ends of your first finger and thumb together. Clench them as tightly as you can. Then imagine the panic draining into these circles. Say to yourself, “drain, drain”, as you picture your anxiety draining out of your system. Then release your fingers and flick the anxiety away.

4.Repeat as many times as needed until you feel better.

Which Deodorant is to Choose for Armpit Sweating?

Filed under: Alternative Medicine — Tags: — admin @ 4:44 pm

Armpit sweating is always annoying for everybody, but the real problem is the smell that it caused. Most of the time our dresses, especially the underarm portion of shirts, etc., gets wet because of such an armpit excessive sweating issue. In a sense it made us feel uncomfortable in society too.

Deodorants are the most common way to resolve the issue of armpit sweating. However, not all of them are that effective, and thus you have to carefully select one out of thousands.

There are a number of different brands available in the market. But for better results you should choose only that one which has the antiperspirant ingredients like Aluminium Chloride. In other cases when the basic deodorant like the Chloride-based (lower percentage of Chloride) do not work effectively, you can try the specific brand called Driclor, which is known for its high success rate in curbing excessive sweating.

Deodorants are beneficial in two ways – it will reduce the body odor and on the other will control the amount of perspiration too. Even so, if you sometime prefer natural remedies more than deodorants then alternatives like Stop Sweating Start Living Reviews are always ready to assist.

Guided Meditation Audio and Video Resources

Guided meditation in both audio and video format are becoming increasingly popular because people are now able to listen or watch these guided meditations on their mobile devices, such as iPhones, android phones, iPads, and iPod Touches. There are even numerous guided meditation techniques and audio products in the App Store right now. We’re talking dozens of different meditation products that we can download immediately and listen to anytime we want.

In fact, I just saw a guided meditation audio product in the App Store that specifically taught people how to quiet their mind and less than 1 min. 1 minute! Is that even possible? It might just be a marketing ploy, but nevertheless, having this many meditation resource available at our disposal can only be a good thing.

Traditionally, meditation video is not as popular is meditation audio. I have a feeling that is the case because most people close their eyes when they listen to meditations or participate in meditations, so when your eyes are open, wouldn’t it be a little difficult to practice meditation? Most meditation techniques require you to close your eyes and go within, as opposed to putting your energy and attention outside yourself onto a computer screen or television screen.

guided meditation has always been the most popular in audio format. But with the advent of media players that can play video, and the proliferation of DVD players, Blu-ray players, and mobile devices that specialize in video, guided meditation videos are becoming even more popular. Some of them incorporate music. Others incorporate visual imagery, like nature, and things like that. I recently watched a particular meditation DVD that incorporated both audio music and visual stimulus, nature shots, etc. I guess I would watch the DVD and then practice the meditation, or perhaps I would just watch the beautiful pictures of nature and listen to the music and that would be my meditation in and of itself. I guess I will have to try it out and see.
